As with all disasters, Google is so fast on the response. And so again if you'd like to give to the victims and people of CHile, Google is a great place to go to do that via this link

Welcome to the B1G1 giving village

It’s great to have you here. And if you’re a first time visitor, we encourage you to do what you’d do in a real village – EXPLORE!

In particular, click on the village graphic below. This Village is all about connecting with a common purpose of making a difference.

Buy1GIVE1 - B1G1 does that by turning our world into a world full of giving through working with businesses around the world. In the B1G1 world, everyday transactions give back to make a difference. Someone buys a book, a tree gets planted. People dine out, hungry children get fed. And much, much more.

Go ahead and invite others. Share your ideas. And if you’d like to support what B1G1 is doing, we would love you to join as a B1G1 Global Citizen (you’ll have some fun there with some of the options too). And if you own or run a business, please explore more about B1G1 Business.

We’re really looking forward to making a difference with you.

I feel despair when so called world leaders fail to collaborate and therefore what needs to happen with climate change, economics, you name it, doesn’t happen.

On the other hand I feel excitement, inspiration, and exhilaration when I see or hear of so called ordinary people making a difference. I am convinced more than ever that positive and productive change is personal first, local second, the world third.

Aside from law and order, maintaining some infrastructures and safety nets, politics i… Continue

Doing what we are capable of doing - with thanks to Gandhi and Haque

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing said Mahatma Gandhi would suffice to solve most of the world's problems.

We can do a lot worse that following some of the controversial, yet I think common sense approaches of Umair Haque, a Director of the Havas Media Lab, and a regular conributor to Harvard Business Review blogs.

    I particuarly like Haque’s great to… Continue

Australia and New Zealand share in the B1G1 WOW again

In what’s becoming almost a monthly ‘tour’ now, Australians and New Zealanders are getting to experience the two ‘waves’ of WOW and WOOW live through the B1G1 Seminars coming up in March and April.

From a presenter’s point of view, these are seriously great programs to do — you can simply feel the energy, focus and ‘buzz’ that fills the room as Seminar delegates really get involved with and experience the two key messages

Receiving and Giving - how much is enough?

When I hear or see that a child has died somewhere in the world from hunger or a preventable/curable disease (as 27000 will today) I feel an emptiness I cannot describe. I have always felt this way. Sometimes when confronted with this appauling news I stare for a few minutes without a single thought crossing my mind. When I return to normal I am renewed once more to do my bit to make poverty history.

My wife and I support children in need through World Vision and we know that our support combin… Continue
